TODD ALBERTSON

Todd Albertson is Ashlea’s dad and a co-founder of the Ashlea Albertson Legacy Foundation. Ashlea and Todd shared an incredibly special bond—they weren’t just father and daughter, they were truly best friends. From the very beginning of her racing career, Todd was by her side at the track, helping wrench on the car, traveling countless miles together, and supporting the dream they both loved so much.

After losing Ashlea, Todd made the decision to turn unimaginable heartbreak into purpose. Today, he shares Ashlea’s story at driving schools and youth programs across the country, speaking about the importance of seat belt safety, the dangers of road rage, and how quickly one decision behind the wheel can change lives forever. His message is deeply personal, and his hope is that by telling Ashlea’s story, he can help save others.

Todd is also a proud husband and father to three other daughters who continue to support and carry Ashlea’s spirit forward. Through his work with the elevator union, he travels across the country educating and mentoring the next generation of union elevator mechanics, helping young people build meaningful careers and strong futures.

Recently, Todd has even taken a step back into racing himself, competing in a local karting series in Indiana. For him, being back behind the wheel is one of the places he feels closest to Ashlea—a way to stay connected to the passion they shared and the memories they built together at the racetrack.

Through the Ashlea Albertson Legacy Foundation, Todd remains committed to keeping Ashlea’s memory alive—both at the racetrack and beyond—while working to make roads safer and open doors for young girls chasing their dreams in motorsports.
